Run Huq Run!!!
I just can't believe of what I have achieved. With just a month after the treadmill challenge in One Utama, I have managed to cross the finishing line of a full marathon.
I'm not a runner. I can say that I'm more a skateboarder coz I terrorize the streets of KL with my skateboard. Running/walking 42.195 KM really brought a new perspective on my life. I have fully understand what our forefathers have been through sans transportation. The experience of finishing the marathon with limited amount of hydration really change my point of view on society at large. In times of adversities I found out that we really can set aside our differences and help each other. In a marathon when there is point A and point B. We pushed our self to the limits to do our best. In the midpoint of the race when half the job is done, there's a sense of feeling "I've made this far I can do it!". But then when there are too many walkers rather than runners, you tend to be dragged into the same rythm. That was the case until I realized "hey, I'm in a marathon should I be running?" Doh! So I started to run a bit and according to runpix, from halfway to the finish, I passed 148 runners while 11 passed me. The sour part is as I was enthusiastic to finish the marathon, I was dishearten to see station after station for rehydration emptied. My guess is the frontrunners were very thirsty. I didn't care much about water, I just wanted to replenish my body's electrolytes. My legs were cramping up I was very afraid that they were going to give in or you can call it the state of hitting the wall. I turned my frustration into motivation and I keep on running. AND THE REST IS HISTORY.....
ps. Thank you Mr. 1086, Mrs 0200, Mr 0943 for being my pacesetters....
